Atlanta is located in the northwest corner of the state of Georgia, which is the capital. The city lies about 320 km north-west Atlantic, and about 440 km north of the Gulf of Mexico.
The bustling metropolitan area of Atlanta is crossed by perpendicular streets I-75/85 and I-20 and is covered by l-285, which forms the so-called ‘the perimeter’ (the perimeter). West Peachtree St is the main north-south artery, but be careful not to be confused, since there are 40 other roads, including streets, avenues and alleys, called Peachtree.
The center of the city coincides with Five Points, the intersection of a star of some of the main streets of the city. To the east of downtown, Sweet Auburn, the most important African-American neighborhood in Atlanta. Continuing from Sweet Auburn north you come to Little Five Points, the academic center and alternate in Atlanta. To the north of downtown, Midtown, a rather exclusive area dedicated to entertainment and nightlife. The West End, just west of downtown, is the oldest district of the city. The Olympic Stadium and Grant Park are to the south and south-east of the center.
The Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport is located 19 km south of downtown, while the Greyhound station is located next to the Garnett MARTA station, just south of downtown. The Amtrak station is located 5 km north of downtown.Number of View :2012
